A Touch of Pink

A few nights ago I had stayed up late reading. The next morning of course I wake up earlier than usual and cannot go back to sleep. Right away, I knew I needed something warm but light to wake me up. Usually, I head over to an antique coffee shop down the street called The Living Room, but  that morning I felt like changing it up a bit, and went down to the classic Starbucks. While I was waiting in line to order, I noticed the most adorable, mini, pink donuts. I thought I should get three to share with my sisters so we could all have a treat. So I ordered my chai tea latte with a shot of espresso and three mini donuts, to add a touch of pink to my morning.

A Grilled Cheese Twist

You know that feeling of hungriness around lunchtime when you had a light breakfast and now you're ready for a rich, filling lunch? Well, just last week I had one of those feelings and I decided to indulge myself in a very yummy sandwich. So I went down to the market and picked up some of my favorite things, blue cheese, fresh tomatoes, dijon mustard, a light mayo and some multi-grain bread. When I got home, I realized it was a bit chilly and I wanted to eat something warm. After debating on whether or not I could still make the delicious treat I wanted, I decided to put the sandwich together and put a twist on the classic grilled cheese. You really can't be much of a picky eater and you have to be able to cooperate with the almost sour taste of the ingredients to enjoy this dish. However, when made correctly, you can truly have the best lunchtime meal.

A Short Trip to Paradise

Although the feeling of summer and getting out of school is indescribable, summer days tend to get pretty boring at times. My three older siblings were busy with their summer jobs, while I caught myself lazing around for most of my vacation. Soon all those days of busy work and bordem caught up to us and we realized that my oldest sister would be going off to college in North Carolina in a couple of weeks. As the arguments of what we should do as a family vacation went on, we finally decided on a relaxing long weekend away to Ojai Valley.

{We stopped in San Marino on our way up to Ojai and got a bite to eat with Grandma}.

{A very yummy Sushi Mi dish that my sister ordered}.

{We spotted this very interesting piece of decor outside the restaurant}.
{We got to enjoy this incredible view of a vineyard during our family hike}.

The Start of a New Season

I'm sure many of you have read the book Charlotte's Web. Well, it's one of my favorites. Not because of the fun-loving, adorable pig, Wilbur, or the magic of childhood that is on each page, but because of that spider. Her intelligence and beauty are of course a wonderful part of her, but her name is what really got my attention as a child. The reason for that is because it is the same as mine.

Welcome to Charlotte's Web!

Since summer is coming to an end and a new school year is just around the corner, I thought it would be the perfect time to begin my first blog. Although the start of school can be stressful, it is accompanied by fall clothes, colors, holidays, and treats. My blog will be centered around all of those things, the things I love, and I am overjoyed that I can share these things with you. I hope you enjoy as I share with you, a new season.
